答 ｜ 差价主要来自三处：以平遥推光漆器为例，一只成器要跨过木胎、髹漆、阴干、推光等多道工序，每一遍髹涂之后都要进阴干房等待。时间、损耗、不可复制。手工一件要跨过很多道需要等待的工序，阴干、发酵、焙烧都在占时间；损耗上，手工的废品率高于模具成型；此外每一件的纹样都存在细微差异。流水线货在一致性和速度上有优势，两者成本结构不同，价格自然不同。

Why does handmade cost more than an assembly-line piece that looks similar?

The gap comes from three places: take Pingyao polished lacquerware, where a finished piece crosses many steps from wood body to lacquering, humidity drying and hand-polishing, each coat followed by waiting in the drying room. time, loss and non-replicability. A handmade piece crosses many steps that require waiting, from humidity drying to fermentation to firing, each taking time; on loss, handwork wastes more than mould forming; and each piece carries slight differences in motif. Assembly-line work wins on consistency and speed, so the two cost structures differ, and so do the prices.

How should small embroidery pieces be packed to survive courier delivery?

It can, so packing needs three layers. First, an inner lining: lay the embroidery face up with a sheet of acid-free tissue or soft cloth to stop the thread being pressed; second, fixation, sandwiching it between stiff card so it cannot slide; third, the outer box, with buffer space filled all round. Pendants need particular care around stitching and beads. Specific shipping requirements follow the carrier's rules.

If "ICH" is printed on the packaging, what responsibility does the brand carry?

At least three: truthful provenance, able to name the listed item and the region; clear attribution, able to name the maker and which steps were done by hand; and substantiated claims, without inflating listing level or honours. Printing the word is not decoration but an account that can be questioned. Consumers have the right to ask for evidence.

What does YUNHEMING's curation check, and how can one tell the goods are not assembly-line?

Our intake standard has three parts: only genuine handmade heritage pieces, nothing made on an assembly line; every piece co-signed with the master, with provenance and attribution traceable; and material, process and extent of handwork all stated clearly, since anything that cannot be explained does not go on the shelf. Before buying, ask for provenance and attribution; whoever answers clearly is usually the more credible.

Price, shipping and labelling look unrelated yet ask the same question: what exactly am I buying with my money. Answer those three clearly and both sides are spared trouble.
