答 ｜ 多数不一样，这正是两者的分界。非遗手工品讲究原料本身：漆用生漆、绣用真丝、瓷用特定产地的泥料，材料是工序的一部分，换掉材料，工序也就跟着变了。文创产品通常以视觉元素为主，材料按成本与批量选，图案相同而材料不同是常态。判断时可以直接问一句：这件东西用的什么料。

答 ｜ 香品避潮避晒，密封后放在阴凉处；香器用后待完全冷却再清理，灰烬倒净、用软布擦干，不要用洗涤剂长时间浸泡。香器多带漆面或金属件，怕持续高温与骤冷骤热，也不宜贴近窗边长期日晒。存放时与香料分开，避免串味。

Are the materials used in cultural-creative products the same as heritage materials?

Article two of the Regulations of Pingyao on Protecting the Polished Lacquerware Decoration Technique (Jinzhong Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, 2023) defines the craft as using raw lacquer, tung oil and mineral pigments as its basic materials. Writing the materials into the text is precisely because the material is itself one of the standards of the craft.

Usually not, and that is precisely the line between them. Handmade heritage objects care about the material itself: raw lacquer for lacquerware, real silk for embroidery, clay from a particular source for porcelain. The material is part of the process, and changing it changes the process. Cultural-creative products are usually driven by visual elements, with materials chosen for cost and batch, so identical patterns on different materials are normal. When judging, ask directly what material was used.

Once incense sticks and an incense vessel arrive, how should they be used and where kept?

Keep incense away from damp and sun, sealed in a cool place. Let a vessel cool completely after use before cleaning, empty the ash and wipe it dry with a soft cloth; do not soak it in detergent for long periods. Vessels often have lacquered or metal parts, which dislike sustained heat and sudden changes of temperature, and should not sit by a window in strong sun. Store them apart from the incense itself to avoid transferring scent.

How can one tell whether one has bought a handmade heritage object or a cultural-creative product?

Three questions will settle it: who performed the steps by hand, which skill it belongs to, and which maker it came from. When all three have answers, the object stands up. Where only colour and symbolism are discussed and provenance turns vague, it is usually a pattern printed onto a commodity, not the craft itself.

If something bought cannot be used at home, whom should one ask?

Just ask again. How to place it, how to wipe it, when to stop using it: ask first, use second, rather than looking for a remedy after it breaks.

The question of material comes back in the end to price. With the same pattern, real material and substitute material differ in cost by more than a little, and a seller who can explain that difference is usually also willing to explain other things.
